Please meet Pastor Gregory Arutyunyan, affectionately known as Pastor Gregory. He is of Armenian descent, born in Azerbaijan, Russia, near the Turkish border. His parents were not raised Adventist, and his father was one of the Communist Party leaders in their district.

Pastor Gregory was the first to become a Christian in his family. At first he joined the Baptist church, and then a few years later he learned about, and embraced the Adventist message, and was baptized into the Seventh-day Adventist church. After a few more years, his whole family was converted.

Pastor Gregory holds a BA in Music from the Armenian State Pedagogical Institute. He also has an MA in religion, a M.Div. equivalent, and is currently working on his PhD in Old Testament and Biblical Hebrew from Andrews University.

Pastor Gregory has been a Youth Leader, a Deacon, an Elder, an Associate Pastor, and a Pastor. He served as Chairman of the Education Department, and as Ministerial Secretary, among other offices, for the Volga-Ural Conference in Russia. He was also Chairperson for the Euro-Asia Division, and Senior Pastor at the Immanuel SDA Church in Canada.

Pastor Gregory is married to Yelizaveta (Liza), who is continuing her Nursing career at Germanna Community college in Locust Grove, VA.

They have two daughters. Maria, the oldest, has finished Medical school at Loma Linda University, and is pursuing a career in Emergency Care. She will be doing a 3 year residency at the Medical College of Georgia in Augusta Georgia. Their younger daughter, Tsovinar (Tsovic), has completed medical school and is in her second year of residency at Loma Linda University.

The Pastor's two sons are Greg, a first year student at Loma Linda School of Medicine, and Samuel, a senior in high school.
