*Labor Day –
Don’t forget that there is no school this coming Monday. Enjoy your Labor Day holiday!
*Welcome Back –
We would like to say a special “Welcome” to our new students – Edwin Gutierrez and Adrian Walker in 1st grade, and Emily Gutierrez in 2nd. Welcome back to each of our returning students and their families. We are already off to a wonderful and exciting new year!
*Specialty Teachers –
We have again been blessed with parents and volunteers who will be teaching certain classes for us. These people are specialists in their fields. Mr. Jose del Rosario – P.E.; Mrs. Kathryn Lafferty – Physical fitness; Mrs. Vera Majdi Tourinho – Art; Mrs. Debbie Burton – Music; and Mrs. Ynolde Gillan – Science. Pastor Gregory will again be on campus every Thursday for Bible class. We have been blessed with other parents and volunteers who help out in the classrooms and the front office. God has truly blessed TLC Prep and we are continually thankful for His benevolence.

*Welcome Back Picnic –
I hope each of you will be able to make it next Thursday, for our Welcome Back Picnic. It begins at 5:30 and goes until 7pm. Weather permitting, we will be outside, behind the gym. If the weather doesn’t cooperate, we will move indoors. This is a potluck, so bring your favorite food/s! Home and School will be providing drink and dessert.
*Field Day –
Thursday, September 9, is our fourth annual Northern Virginia Field Day. We will play host to Manassas Adventist Preparatory School, Tappahannock Junior Academy, and Vienna Adventist Academy. Each school has a specific task they are in charge of. Our responsibility is food and awards. To cover the cost of the food, each child will pay $5. Next week, we will have an envelope attached to the Prep Time that you can use to put your family’s portion in.
If you would be able to help prepare or serve, please let Mrs. Majdi or Mrs. Ladd know ASAP. Thank you, in advance.
*Back to School Night –
Thursday evening, Sept. 16 is your chance to go back to school!!! We will begin the evening in the gymnasium, and then move to the classrooms. Opportunity will be given for parents who have children in both classrooms, to participate in events in both of those rooms. Your children absolutely love this night for two reasons: 1) they love having YOU be the one in school; 2) every child who has a parent attend, or someone to represent their parent, will receive a Homework Pass! More information will be in next week’s Prep Time.
*Dinner/Talent Show Fundraiser–
We are having our Talent Show Fundraising Dinner in October this year. Saturday, Oct. 16, is the date! Tickets should be available for sale as of next week. Both the dinner and talent show are open to students and families of TLC Prep, Fredericksburg SDA Church as well as other church families of our students. If you, or somebody you know, is interested in participating in the Talent Show, please contact Janet Armstrong.

Prayer Journaling
The students are asked to keep a journal of prayer requests for their fellow students, to pray for and encourage them.
Every Monday, from 3:00 - 3:15, the children meet with their "Prayer Buddies" to review the prayer requests and praises they made the previous week.
(During our Fall and Spring Weeks of Prayer, the children will meet each afternoon.) The groups are made up of 3 students, each with a mix of grade levels. The upper grade student in each group leads out in the activities.

FAYM
For those of you who aren’t sure what FAYM is, it means Fredericksburg Adventist Youth Ministries. One of their many activities takes place at in the church library every Friday evening. The youth have two bible studies – one for younger children and one for teenagers. The size of these groups has been steadily growing every week. They are inviting any of you who are interested in having your child participate in either of these meetings, of if you have any questions about them, to contact Andrew Wright, or Pastor Arutyunyan. Contact Mrs. Armstrong if you need either of their phone numbers.
