Treasurer’s  Corner

One of the important outreach ministries of our local church is our community services program.

When Dorcas died, oh, how they cried!  They stood there holding the coats and garments she had made for them.  From this Biblical beginning,

countless relief agencies have sprung up to help the unfortunate.  We are grateful for these agencies.  But do their services have a numbing effect

on those of us not directly connected with them?  Do they permit us to shrug off our responsibilities, except for an occasional handout?

Relief work is everybody’s business.  The Bible says, “Pure religion and undefiled is to visit the fatherless and the widows in their affliction.”

James 1: 27.

By regularly giving a percentage of our income, we support the programs of our church, including community services.  Let us dedicate our time

and talents to serving others, even as we remember the words of our Lord Jesus:  “Inasmuch as you have done it unto one of the least of these

My brethren, you have done it unto Me.”
