On this page we would like to remember those of our beloved fellow members who have recently passed away, and to celebrate the life they lived, rejoicing in the memories they have left behind. 

 

Dave Scott, brother-in-law to Diane Grimes, and husband to Sherry Scott, passed away February 8, 2010 after a very difficult battle with cancer.  He was courageous in his battle, and tried many things, including going to a health institute in Washington State to overcome his disease.  He was able to slow down the progress of the cancer through the use of dietary changes and natural remedies, and lived two years beyond what the doctors said he would. He was 56.

 

Dave was a devoted husband and father, and loved his family more than anything else.  He is survived by three daughters, Jennifer Gurkin, Sarah Scott, and Danielle Scott, his wife, Sherry, his son-in-law, James Gurkin, and two sisters.

 

Dave was blessed to see his new baby granddaughter, Savanah Gurkin, before he passed away, for which he was very grateful.

 

Dave was baptized at the Fredericksburg SDA Church on Stafford Avenue near their  home on Parcell Avenue in Fredericksburg, Virginia on December 20, 1986

by pastor David Anderson.

 

He worked on doing the drywall for the present TLC Prep Church School in 1987. We are grateful for his contribution in building the school.

 

Dave was buried in Ashland, NC

He will be missed by us all.
