The Scrip Project

 

 

What is it you ask?

This is a fundraising program for TLC Prep.  Scrip fundraising gift cards are the same gift cards you would normally purchase from a retailer in your local retail stores, and they work the same way.  There are over 500 retailers that participate in this program.  You’ll find cards you can use at grocery stores, gas stations, restaurants, movie theaters, home improvement stores and almost any business that accepts gift cards.  Virtually anywhere you shop will accept some form of Scrip.

 

Why are we doing this?

Our organization can earn up to a 15% rebate on each purchase and depending on the amount of scrip we sell, we will have a better opportunity to help our school grow and gain financial stability.  

 

How does it work?

By simply planning ahead on everyday purchases like groceries, gas, restaurants, clothes, entertainment and home repair, the average family can raise at least $11 a week for the school.  That modest number can add up quickly – over $500 a year for an average family is not unusual.  It only takes minutes a week to think about where you’ll be shopping and spending money in the days ahead and those few minutes can add up to thousands for our organization. We sell the gift cards to your families for full face value and your families redeem the cards for full face value.  Our organization will get a rebate off of that card .   All you need to do is fill out a request form indicating which retailer you would like a gift card for and what denomination you would like, attach a check in the amount of the total purchase and put it in the designated location.  Orders will be picked up and placed on Monday & Thursday’s and ready for pickup by Wednesday’s, Saturday’s or Sunday’s.  Once you get your gift card all you have to do is shop.  

 

When is the program starting?

This program will start Monday November 1^st.  Everyone will receive a notice in the bulletin in church this week noting the details of ordering.  Attached is a list of participating retailers, the denominations that apply to that store and the percent of return for our school.  

 

Here are some great ideas for using Scrip!

The holidays are just around the corner.  Have you ever gotten something that you really didn’t need or want?  Scrip is a great way to avoid that situation.  Remember over 500 retailers participate in this program so there is a gift card for everyone.  Avoid the hassles of standing in line at the post office to ship expensive packages.  How about a birthday or anniversary in the near future?  Gift cards allow your loved ones to purchase the items they need or want.

That could be $90 each month for 12 months!!

Fundraising campaign

 

           

 

 

Welcome to the TLC Prep fundraising program.  Throughout the school year our students will be bringing home information on various fundraising activities that will take place.  We are counting on each student to give 100% participation in each activity.  That means we need your assistance as parents to help each student understand why we do fundraising and how it helps the school. All of the money that is raised will go directly to the operating budget for TLC Prep.  This will allow our school to have more flexibility in bringing the best educational opportunities to our students.  Below you will see a tentative fundraising schedule.  I’ve included a flyer for each event so you will be able to see ahead of time what will be required of each student.   If we all give 100% to this program we will be able to accomplish great things at TLC Prep.  Thank you for being a part of the TLC family.

TLC Book Fair:  March 5 – 9^th.  Your student will have choices between Scholastic Books and Barefoot

TLC Prep Yard/Rummage Sale:  Gather all the things you really want to get rid of and donate them to TLC for a

School yard sale.  Items are donated so all proceeds will go directly to TLC Prep.  Volunteers will be

Needed for this event. 

 

You will want to start saving items you would like to donate for the sale. 

Especially when spring comes, you will want to start cleaning out your garages/closets/drawers.

There are now seven (7) magazines that are eligible if you purchase them at the store or news stand.  They are not eligible if you subscribe to them!  Repeat, if you purchase one of the below magazines at the grocery, please clip the UPC code on the front and save them for me.  They are worth 5 points each!

I mention the juices and sauces because since I took over this program we haven't collected a single lid.

I am not sure if it is because no one uses these products, or no one knows to collect them?

 

My final box tops submission for this school year will be the end of February, and the school will

receive a check by April 15.

Box Tops and Labels

 

How would you like to help our school earn free money and equipment - with no cost to you at all!  We all eat and go to the grocery store.  Box Tops for Education sponsored by General Mills will send our school checks for box tops we send them.  Just look on your packaging for the distinctive logo that says BOX TOPS FOR EDUCATION and looks like a little coupon, and cut this out.  Labels for Education sponsored by Campbell’s will have the Labels for Education slogan next to the UPC Code.  Just clip the UPC code with the logo. There are hundreds of eligible, popular products that we purchase every week at the grocery, and then throw away the packaging!  If you do this, you are throwing away money that could have gone to our school.  

 

We will have a collection bin in the Church lobby and at the school, or you can give them directly to our coordinator, Rita Funk.  If you have any questions about what to save, or what products are eligible, please contact Rita at 540-891-8912.  Also, please don't forget to clip UPC codes from all your health food products, and the UPC's from Morning Star Farms boxes.  These add up quickly!  We can earn big rewards both monetary and in equipment for our school! 

 

I am praying that the Fredericksburg Church will get behind this project with 100% support and we will reap big benefits for our school!

We currently have 783 TOPS (which would equal $78.30).  We will be sending in all BOX TOPS at the end of October.  This means there is more time to add to our current numbers, which in turn means we have a chance at several more dollars!
